maxon flat motors are especially suitable for installation in confined spaces. The brushless motors are designed as internal and external rotors and can reach speeds of up to 20,000 rpm. The simple design made it possible to largely automate the manufacturing – this is reflected by the economical price. Choose from EC flat motors with hall sensors, sensorless motors, or EC motors with integrated electronics. These motors can also be combined with gearheads and encoders.

The stripped down motor DC motors cannot always be optimally integrated into a structure. In robot joints, for example, space and weight are a prime concern, with standard solutions coming up against their limits. For this reason, maxon motor is offering its brushless flat motors (EC flat) as frameless motor kits. Rotors and stators are delivered separately – without bearings or motorshaft – and connected only when the components are assembled. In this way, customers achieve the best of both worlds: high torque density and minimum volume.
With outer diameters of only 43 to 90 mm, the EC flat series' brushless flat motors are extremely compact. Designed as external rotor motors, they offer plenty of space inside for cable glands. maxon delivers them with Hall sensors for easy control.
