The Datavisor EtherNet/IP Marquee Series (distributed through EXOR Electronic R&D) is a line of industrial-grade LED display signs that communicate natively on the Rockwell EtherNet/IP network. Each unit includes an embedded web server and a second dedicated Ethernet port for simultaneous data collection to a PC — without installing any software or programming communication blocks into the PLC ladder logic.

Messages displayed on the marquee are drawn directly from internal PLC registers on CompactLogix or ControlLogix controllers. Register data can be any combination of bits, words, or strings — covering alarms, machine performance metrics, and production data. The second Ethernet port broadcasts that same information to any computer on the plant network via the built-in web server, and third-party spreadsheets can be used to monitor and store it.

Who Uses EtherNet/IP Marquees?

These displays are used in manufacturing facilities running Rockwell EtherNet/IP networks where operators and supervisors need direct, real-time visibility of CompactLogix or ControlLogix PLC data without programming communication blocks in ladder logic. Typical applications include:

  • Production goal vs. actual count display
  • Machine efficiency and OEE metrics from PLC registers
  • Alarm and fault condition broadcasts from Rockwell controllers
  • Job completion percentage and quality data
  • Real-time data collection to PC or third-party spreadsheets

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the EtherNet/IP Marquee require software installation?

No. All setup and configuration is done through a standard web browser by entering the marquee's IP address. No software download, license, or serial cable is needed.

Does the EtherNet/IP Marquee require changes to PLC ladder logic?

No. The marquee accesses PLC registers directly over EtherNet/IP without requiring communication blocks to be programmed into the ladder logic.

Which Rockwell PLCs does the EtherNet/IP Marquee support?

The marquee connects directly to CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLCs over the EtherNet/IP protocol.

What PLC register formats does the EtherNet/IP Marquee support?

Register data can be any combination of bits, words, or strings. This covers alarms, machine performance data, production counts, and any other value stored in an accessible PLC register.

Can the EtherNet/IP Marquee send data to a PC or spreadsheet simultaneously?

Yes. The second dedicated Ethernet port broadcasts plant floor data to any PC on the network via the built-in web server. Third-party spreadsheets can be used to monitor and store this data in real time.

What is the power requirement for each EtherNet/IP Marquee model?

The 2-line and 4-line models (IP-0213-T, IP-0220-T, IP-0420-T) run on 120 VAC. The single-line model (IP-0113-T) runs on 24 VDC.

Can the marquee configuration be backed up?

Yes. The browser-based setup menu includes a dedicated backup and restore configuration option, allowing full configuration saves and recovery without reconfiguring from scratch.
