MG10 Electric Magnetic Gripper
OnRobot MG10 is an electric magnetic gripper for collaborative robots, built for handling ferromagnetic parts such as metal sheets, blanks, and formed components. It provides adjustable magnetic force in 10 steps, built-in part detection via a proximity sensor (within 2 mm), and maintains grip during power loss or emergency stop.
The MG10 magnetic gripper is used for destacking and separating metal sheets, including thin materials where the magnetic force can be adjusted for controlled pickup. It is suited for handling perforated, abrasive, or dusty workpieces where vacuum-based gripping can be inconsistent. The MG10 is also used in press brake, bending, and press-tending operations where the part geometry changes during handling.
A combination of the below options are included with your purchase depending on the model selected:
- 1x robot side quick changer
- 1x tool mounting flange
- 1x cabling kit
- 1x robot kit (The robot kit is required for Ethernet IP communication and software updates for all OnRobot tooling.)

* Payload values are stated as applicable at 3G; datasheet notes the gripper might lift/carry up to 15 kg depending on acceleration.
** Full force requires all four fingers in contact with the workpiece.
*** Using the UR CB3 tool connector can increase gripping time up to 500 ms.
Included Pads and Fingertips
- Protective pads (nylon) to reduce marking on the workpiece
- Fingertips for cylindrical objects for handling cylindrical/spherical workpieces with diameter 20–65 mm
- Important constraint: the proximity sensor cannot detect workpieces when cylindrical fingertips are used if the offset exceeds 2 mm.
Additional Notes
- Payload is strongly affected by orientation, workpiece material, thickness, geometry, and air gap distance; any added distance between the part and gripper can drastically decrease force
- Manufacturer recommendation: use 100% magnet strength when moving at high speed/high acceleration
- Using only two of four pads reduces force
