Servo motors are rotary actuators that allow for precise control of angular or linear position, velocity, and acceleration. Their size and energy efficiency make them suitable for a number of applications like robotics, RC toys, and more.
Servo solutions & systems consist of a motor coupled to a sensor for position feedback with a servo drive to complete the system. The drive uses the feedback sensor to precisely control the rotary position of the motor.
Servo motors come in two main types: brush and brushless. Both servo motor types operate in a continuous torque range as well as a peak torque range. Peak torque can be much higher than continuous torque but can only be achieved for short periods of time. By comparison, continuous torque can be reached throughout the regular operation of a servo motor.
Brush Servo Motors
An older technology that can be run with simple motor controls, such as 2 or 4 quadrant servo drives, but have parts (graphic or precision metal brushes) that require maintenance. Today's preferred servo motor is brushless. This is normally done with a primary feedback device like Halls Sensors. A brushless servo motor will normally have an encoder or resolver for accurate position feedback that can be used to control both position and/or velocity.
Brushless Servo Motors
Brushless servo motors can be rotary, linear or frameless in construction. They can perform very simple motion or be used in highly dynamic requirements. Applications include: robotics, CNC machinery, laser cutting, packaging, printing, material handling and many other automated manufacturing processes. The brushless servo motor has no component maintenance but does require a servo drive that can electronically commutate the motor.
Servo Motors We Provide:
AC Servo Motor with Drive Systems
Provides various electronic motor drives with advanced control technology, multiple fieldbus connectivity options, and control interfaces. There are a broad selection of servo drives with a range of input voltages and output power levels.
High-quality DC motors, equipped with powerful permanent magnets. The centerpiece of the motor is the worldwide patented ironless rotor. This means cutting-edge technology for compact, powerful drives with low inertia.
Have winding in the rotor and permanent magnets on the stator. Carbon brushes and a mechanical commutator provide a current path through the windings to achieve motor torque. A DC motor will continuously rotate if a DC power source is applied across its terminals. Reversing the polarity will cause the motor to reverse direction.
Excellent torque characteristics, high power, an extremely wide speed range, and an outstandingly long life span. The outstanding controllability of the motors makes high-precision positioning drives possible.
Have windings in the stator and permanent magnets attached to the rotor. No brushes are used. Motor rotation is achieved by means of electrical commutation performed by the drive. Brushless servo motors provide high acceleration, high torque, and no maintenance.
When performance is required at high torque levels and correspondingly low speeds, Maxon mini gearmotors are in their element. In addition to a wide standard range of spur and planetary gearheads, Maxon motor also excels in providing customized solutions, tailored to the customer's requirements.
Any motor — rotary or linear — in which the load is directly coupled to the motor without mechanical transmission elements such as gearboxes, rack and pinions, or belt and pulley systems. In this system, the motor directly drives the load.
The recovery of petroleum and natural gas requires constant innovation and improvement of technology. This technology used for deep drilling processes are exposed to extreme environ-mental conditions. Temperatures of 200+°C, high pressure and extreme shock and vibration.
Explosion-proof motors are designed to minimize the risk of explosion, and to contain any internal explosion that may occur without allowing it to propagate to the outside environment. As an explosion proof motors supplier, Electromate proudly offers Kollmorgen explosion proof & hazardous location servo motors.
Quality standards and legal regulations impose strict hygienic requirements on equipment used in the food and beverage, meat and dairy, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries. Whether you're looking to put you motor near a wet area or plan to expose it to high pressure washdown, the Kollmorgen family of food grade & washdown safe servo motors provides a right fit for your specific application.
Integrated servo motors are constructed to include a BLDC motor, driver, encoder and associated electronics into a single compact package. Electromate sells two types of Integrated servomotors: Traditional Integrated AC Servo Motors and Hybrid Integrated Servo Motors (also known as closed-loop stepper motors).
When space is at a premium, Maxon Brushless Pancake Motors are the solution. The electronically commutated Maxon EC flat motors are particularly noteworthy for their excellent torque handling characteristics, high performance, extremely wide speed range and, of course, their unsurpassed service life.
Have many superior performance features including zero backlash, high accuracy, fast response time, high vacuum compatibility, and are available in a wide range of sizes, and hollow shaft designs. These electromechanical servo actuators are easy to use and offer quick implementation.
